After a very long road trip from Boston to the mountains of North Carolina, with two parents, two kids, a dog, and a fair amount of our worldly possessions packed into a Subaru Forrester, we finally arrived in Seven Devils. Tessa wasted no time in setting up the deck chairs to enjoy the view of Grandfather Mountain.

But the main attraction for Tessa has been THE BEARS. When we told Tessa a few weeks ago that we were going to stop in North Carolina on our way to our "new home," she thoughtfully paused for a few minutes then asked "I see the bears?" Tessa was remembering her previous trip to Grandfather Mountain when she saw bears in the animal habitat and hiked across the swinging bridge. Having heard about the bears for weeks, we were quick to hop in the car again for the short trip up the mountain.

The bears did not disappoint. We even heard a roar!
Otters, too! This one even did a "pee pee" for us.
